The New Design Line From Angelina Jolie Focuses On Sustainability

Actress and well-known humanitarian Angelina Jolie has announced the opening of Atelier Jolie, a line of designer clothing with a social conscience. According to the Maleficent actress, the project intends to offer a place “where everyone can create”.

“There will also be a diverse online directory for finding clothing designers who use vintage and dead stock materials to make one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect individual creativity and purpose.”

Additionally, a statement on the business website highlights diversity.

The statement continues, “We will assemble a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other gifted, underappreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill.”

Jolie is highly renowned for her dedication to human rights and humanitarian causes. She spent more than 20 years working for the UNHCR, the organization that helps refugees, and she was a special envoy from 2012 to December 2022.

And Jolie is the most recent in a long line of famous people to start their own businesses. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the 1999 film “Girl, Interrupted,” which she also starred in.

Only a few brands in the beauty industry include Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, SKKN by Kim (Kardashian), and Haus Labs by Lady Gaga. Travis Barker is the owner of Barker Wellness.

We also intend to encourage the growth of their own enterprises as we collaborate with international artists and innovators to share the richness of their cultural heritage.

On Wednesday, she posted the information to Instagram with the caption, “Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world.”

The Salt actor explained that the inspiration for the project came from her “appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers” she has collaborated with throughout her career as well as “a desire to use the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, as well as to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.”

According to its official Instagram account, the apparel group will debut this autumn.

The idea “had been years in the making,” a source informed People Magazine. [Jolie] wants the emphasis to be on honoring and promoting the individuals who are rarely given credit for creating the clothing, fabrics, and embroideries.

The actor from The Eternals “is creating a space where people can be more creative and original, focusing on craftsmanship and quality, which leads to less waste,” their source continued.

According to the magazine, the actor is prone to wearing the same luxury clothes repeatedly. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Zahara Jolie-Pitt have both been spotted on red carpets wearing their mother’s outfits and gowns.

In order to encourage people to repair and reuse their clothing, her brand will exclusively utilize leftover textiles, vintage materials, and surplus cloth.

According to the website for Atelier Jolie, the organization will “bring together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, underappreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill.” Additionally, the brand has its own Instagram account, where one post elaborates on its goals.

“Atelier Jolie wants to join others in their effort to democratize the fashion industry, allowing the customers to have access to a collective of emerging designers and master artisans,” it states.
