A typical hotel is not going to cut it. This is why starting an agriturismo is such a great business idea if you are looking to get into the hospitality industry.

This is a type of accommodation that started in Italy when farm owners were looking for extra income. Now, you can find them all over the world since they offer a unique experience where you can get a farm experience with fantastic food and comfortable and modern conveniences. 1. Have Great Products

One of the biggest reasons that people want to stay at an agriturismo is because they will see how the produce and meat are raised. This proximity to the final product is what sets the culinary experience apart from the typical restaurant meal.

Using social media is the first step to creating a brand and some hype around your agriturismo. Create content that is going to resonate with your core audience. Make sure to also use the right platform where you think the ideal person who would want to stay in your agriturismo is hanging out. Instagram is the most logical since it is so visual.

You should also make a press release and host some kind of event that the local news station would be interested in covering. This will bring a lot of attention to what you’re doing and lots of bookings will follow.

3. Add Value

You can make a lot more money if you do things beyond just giving a room and dinner. Think about having things like cooking lessons that people will pay extra for. You can also do things like tours of the farm or even set them up with tours of the area if there is some tourism infrastructure.

The idea is that you can’t just rely on one income stream. The more added value you provide, the more success you will have.
