Best Break Points on the Journey from Mumbai to Aurangabad

1. Louisa Point

Hikers and photographers who are looking for sweeping views of historic forts and picturesque landscapes frequently visit Louisa Point in Matheran. There are two significant things available at this location: one highlights the spectacular mountain scenery, while the other offers stunning views of the valley’s residents. With the help of binoculars, tourists may see breathtaking views that stretch for miles, including the Gourelloa mountain, lakes, and waterfalls.

2. Vallone Vineyards

Situated among stunning mountains and lakes, Vallonne Vineyards is a charming winery where guests can try their freshly fermented wines and enjoy aesthetically pleasing food. Before leaving this must-see location, visitors can also buy wine bottles from a variety of options. A fantastic experience at Vallonne Vineyards is best summed up with a wine tour and a delectable meal at the hotel.

3. Devgiri Fort

Devgiri Fort is a 12th-century fort situated 15 miles from Aurangabad, Maharashtra’s most significant metropolis. Constructed on a huge hill, the fort was designed to confound adversaries with its corridors and entrances. Often claimed as one of Maharashtra’s “seven wonders,” this historical site is currently a well-known travel attraction.

4. Grove of Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling

A Hindu temple that dates back centuries, the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling Mandir is devoted to the god Shiva. It is home to a holy pond that is thought to be the Godavari River’s source. Because there were fewer pilgrims previously, the high-quality carvings on the walls, staircase, and doorway are elegant and clean.

Places to explore in Aurangabad

Here is the list of places to explore when taking your Mumbai To Aurangabad flight:

1. Panchakk

Hazrat Baba Shah Musafir constructed Panchakki, a water mill, in 1734. It was primarily used to mill grains for pilgrims and operated on a water mechanism. An underground water stream that is a tributary of the Harsul River provides Panchakki with its water.

The water is transported six kilometers by earthen pipelines. Even though it was constructed for a completely different use, the surrounding area is stunning.  Hence, tourists can enjoy this picturesque view.

2. Gautala Sanctuary:

Aurangabad is 65 kilometers away from Gautala Sanctuary. Situated at an elevation of 700 feet, the region spans about 250 km2, and it was designated as a protected area in 1986. Rich faunal and floral diversity is supported by the varied vegetation that is sporadically spread over the Sahyadri hill ranges. For both local and migratory birds, as well as sloth bears, this ecosystem is incredibly beneficial.

Chinkaras, bats, wild boars, jungle cats, monkeys, civet cats, barking deer, foxes, jackals, langurs, leopards, nilgais, and wolves are among the other species of animals. Among the bird species present here are partridges, cranes, spoonbills, ibis, pochards, peafowls, quails, and several wader species.

3. Mhaismal:

Mhaismal is a small hill station located in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad District. At a height of 1067 meters, it is roughly 12 kilometers away from Khuldabad and 40 kilometers away from Aurangabad. The 300-foot TV tower, which can transmit a 150-kilometer radius, a lake, and the historic Girijamata temple are all noteworthy tourist destinations.

At the summit of the hill station lies a perfect replica of the Balaji Temple in Tirupati. During the monsoon, when it is lush and green, people come to the hill station to enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys.

4. Ghrishneshwar:

Known by another name, Ghushmeshwar, Ghrishneshwar is a well-known Hindu temple that honors Lord Shiva. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas or sacred dwelling places of Shiva. The temple is eleven kilometers away from Aurangabad’s Daulatabad Fort.

The Ellora Caves are close to the temple. Whether you are taking your Bombay To Kathmandu flights or Aurangabad, it is always a good idea to visit temples.

5. Pitalkhora Caves:

Pitalkhora in the Sahyadri highlands’ Satamala range is very interesting. Thirteen caverns overlooking gorgeous ravines are perched high on the slope. Numerous caverns have been severely damaged and collapsed. Pitalkhora receives few tourists because of its isolated location. The Ellora caverns at Aurangabad are just 40 km distant from the caverns, which date back to the second century BC.

Numerous unique sculptures, such as Yaksa figures, are on display here. A line of elephants adorns the structure, and the main gate features a broad terrace with the naga and guardians flanking the door. A staircase directly connects the entryway and the chaitya.

Conclusion

When traveling from Mumbai to Aurangabad, enjoy the beauty and scenic view from the outside; it is indeed very fascinating. We are sure you will enjoy the drive. When you reach Aurangabad, make sure to visit the places we suggest.
