India: The Narcotics Bureau has busted a Rs 45 crore scam where 231 kilograms of the amphetamine drug were seized from a Bengaluru-based scientist.
The research scientist, Venkata Rama Rao, who was working with a pharma company, was arrested when he went to Hyderabad to pick up the drug consignment from the other accused, Ravi Shankar Rao.
The scientist and his friend would illegally store amphetamine, which is an important component in making high-end hallucinogenic, banned narcotic variants.
