What is Motley Fool Millionacres?

The Motley Fool Millionacres is the real estate investing arm of the wildly successful stock-picking firm. Millionacres was created in 2019 after a Motley Fool research analyst produced a white paper that showed that real estate outperformed other investments.

Millionacres is committed to providing real estate investing advice without the confusing jargon. They provide tools and resources that are suitable for beginners and pros alike.

They believe that all investors should be able to invest in real estate. Therefore, they explore options for accredited and non-accredited investors.

There is more to real estate investing than being a landlord. Millionacres explores the land of REITs, crowdfunding apps, fixer uppers, flippers, rental properties, and commercial real estate.

Someone with extra capital and time might have the resources to invest in actual properties. However many people don’t have the extra money or patience and they may need to start by investing in REITs. A REIT is a real estate investment trust.

Some REITs trade like stocks and are liquid. However, most real estate investing is illiquid. Many real estate investments penalize investors for removing funds early.

Using a company like Millionacres could help prepare you to enter the world of real estate investing. I would assume it would be beneficial to join one of their subscription services for a year or two so that you can get your feet wet.

Millionacres has two premium services. Real Estate Winners and Mogul.

Real Estate Winners

Real Estate Winners costs $249 per year. The service focuses on stocks and REITs that have strong connections to real estate. Real Estate Winners receive the following:

  • New stock recommendations monthly
  • Regular updates on real estate stocks following earnings and events
  • Quarterly “Top Ten Investing Alerts” which ranks real estate investment selections
  • Educational content and resources

Most of the REITs they recommend are expected to pay decent, stable dividends and appreciate over time. The dividends plus the increase in value is what can push real estate past stocks.

Mogul

The Mogul service costs $2,499 per year. That is designed for people that are just starting. If you are considering investment deals that require a $25,000-$100,000 minimum then a service like Mogul might be for you.

With Mogul you receive the following:

  • 1-year access to Mogul – a dashboard-driven platform – all about real estate
  • A 30-day membership refund if you aren’t satisfied
  • Access to content by Real Estate CPAs – a firm focused on tax issues for real estate investors
  • Regular Webinars

The Mogul service issues timely recommendations for actual real estate deals. These are fully vetted investment recommendations by the Mogul team. They even follow a 100-point Mogul Score rating system for commercial properties.

Is Millionacres right for you?

Pros:

  • Jargon-free investment resources
  • Tax advantages and planning
  • In-person events, webinars, and workshops
  • Timely investment recommendations

Cons:

  • The cost seems high
  • Most deals are illiquid
  • This is one of Motley Fool’s newest services

The Bottom Line

The Motley Fool Stock Advisor picks have continually beat the market returns. They claim an outstanding return of 372% since inception (2002) vs the S&P 500 up 122%. And they claim that real estate is the best investment.

When you subscribe, they do offer a short trial period with a money-back guarantee. So, what are you waiting for?
