Investors in this case are likely to derive only 20% of the total equity stake. It also means the creation of additional value for the company.
For an accurate sweat equity as director calculation, divide the investor’s investment amount by the equity presentation that it represents. The calculation here will be $500,000 divided by $2.5 million, or 20%. $500,000 is the investor’s stake, thus making your stake worth around $2 million. As only $1 million has been invested, $1 million is likely to be Sweat Equity’s director.
