Different Types of PVC Valves

PVC valves are crucially important when talking about all different kinds of piping systems because they control the amount and rate of flow of liquid. They have many different applications and uses, with some of the most popular including plumbing, constructing our-door shades, helping build greenhouses, and even some types of furniture.

While many types of valves are made out of PVC, others are made out of steel or iron. They vary in all different kinds of shape and sizes.

If you are curious about the different types of PVC valves, then you have come to the right place!

Let’s break down the most common types of PVC valves together, or you can click here to find out more.

Snap valve

As the name of this type of valve suggests, a snap valve is made up of an elongated clamp that is cut into two pieces so that it can latch onto a pipe.

These kinds of PVC valves are quite unique because it has the unique and specific job of connecting the pipes to different kinds of material rather than actually supporting the pipe itself.

Saddle valve

This type of pipe valve is typically used to keep pipes secure and in the place that they are meant to be in. It is easily recognizable as a U-shaped valve and two spots for nails at the edges. Similarly, a half-saddle valve is also quite common and is used to interlock when a single screw is inserted through both of its holes. Saddle valve clamps are usually secured around a heavy pipe for the most stability possible.

Tee valve

This type of pipe valve forms the telltale “T” shape, which is how it gets its name. A valve is used to join two different types that are running perpendicular to one another. This gives the two pipes a separation of 90 degrees. This is one of the simplest types of valves that are used in building construction and is also one of the most common types of pipe clamps.

A swing-check valve is a type of one-way valve used in piping systems to control the flow of fluids or gases. It consists of a hinged disc or flap that swings open in the direction of flow when there is sufficient pressure, allowing the fluid to pass through. When the flow stops or reverses, the disc swings closed by gravity and prevents backflow, ensuring a one-way flow path. Swing-check valves are durable and are commonly used in various applications where preventing backflow or reverse flow is essential.

Elbow valve

This kind of pipe valve makes it possible for two pipes that have a difference of 45 degrees to be connected. Some kinds of elbow valves also make it possible for a separation of 90 degrees, but they have two openings as opposed to three and should not be confused with Tee clamps.

Butterfly valve

This very specific type of valve is most often used in order to isolate and regulate the flow of liquids through a specific pipe. Typically cheaper than other values, butterfly clamps are lighter and come in styles like resilient, tricentric, or high-performance.

Conclusion

Hopefully, this quick breakdown has helped you better understand the many different types of PVC clamps that are on the market today. If you are in need of PVC piping, make sure to speak with a professional before you begin any installation.
