India: BMW 3 Series has launched the face-lifted version of the Gran Turismo today at a starting price of Rs 43.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is available in two trim options – Sport and luxury. The launch of the 3 GT facelift follows the recent launch of the new X1, the 520d M Sport, and petrol-powered versions of the 3 and 5 Series. With so many launches in a year, the company has been very aggressive in expanding its product portfolio.
The design of the face-lifted 3 GT hasn’t deviated much from the current model. However, the car does receive a few cosmetic changes, such as revised full-LED front and rear lamps, a redesigned front bumper, and chrome accents. At the rear, the face-lifted model retains the active aerodynamic system, including a spoiler that extends automatically at higher speeds to keep the car stable. Moving to the insides, the interiors are the same as the 3 Series sedan in India. The facelifted model comes with all the features, from the same leather upholstery and electric seats to the sunroof and BMW’s iconic iDrive system.
Under the hood, the facelifted 3 GT is powered by the same diesel mill that does duty in the 3 Series sedan. The motor is capable of developing 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque, which is always available at just a tap of your right foot. BMW has also introduced a petrol variant that is powered by a 2.0-litre motor that develops 252PS of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque Both motors are paired to the ZF-sourced, eight-speed auto box that will transfer power to its rear wheels.
